When the heart muscle has weakened to the point where medication alone isn't enough, certain implantable devices can meaningfully improve how the heart pumps and how a patient feels day to day. We assess whether a patient with heart failure is a candidate for CRT or a combined device, implant it, and provide the ongoing monitoring needed to keep heart failure from progressing further.
When it's usually needed
- Heart failure symptoms not fully controlled by medication
- Reduced heart pumping function confirmed on ECHO
- Chambers of the heart beating out of coordination
